Learn to Claim Two Wheeler Insurance online, Know the insurance claim procedure?
Bike Insurance Claim: There are many companies online illustrating how to purchase a bike insurance but most of us are not aware of the procedure to claim bike insurance online. Here in this article, we will see the procedure of two wheeler insurance claims and documents required to claim bike insurance.
Generally, there are two ways of filing a two wheeler insurance claim online. Which are either to lodge a cashless claim or to go for a reimbursement claim. In this article we have discussed both the claim procedures in detail.
1. Bike Insurance cashless Claim:
When the compensation amount is directly paid to the company which is repairing your bike without routing money from your account, it is called a cashless claim. The insurers have tie-ups with various bike service agencies which are called network garages. The insurer normally pays cashless claims to these agencies only. To know about the network garages, you can hover the website of the insurer or you can call on their customer care number.
2. Bike Insurance Reimbursement Claim:
When you get your bike serviced or repaired with your own money and you claim the bills to get back the spent amount, it is called reimbursement of claim. Generally, you need to go for this option when the bike repairing agency does not tie-up with your bike insurer.
What is the Two Wheeler Insurance Claim Settlement Process
To claim bike insurance online or for reimbursement of the amount spent on bike repair, you may need to follow the below given process. The process is not difficult to follow, and many insurance companies have made it easy for their customers.
Cashless Claim Settlement Process:
- First, inform your insurer about the accident or mis-happening and know about the nearest network garage.
- On your information, the insurer will conduct a survey to estimate the damage
- If the survey is satisfactory, you need to fill in the claim form and submit it along with all required documents
- After submission the form and required documents, Insurer will process and approve the repair claim
- Once the agency gets the approval, they will repair your vehicle at the network garage only.
- Once repair is done insurer will pay the repair charges directly to the network garage
- However, you will need to pay the deductibles or non-covered expenses (if any)

Reimbursement Claim Settlement Process:
- Register the claim with your insurer
- Fill up and submit the claim form along with other documents required to your insurer
- The insurer will conduct a survey to estimate the repair cost
- Since you are claiming reimbursement of expenses incurred it is not mandatory to go to a network garage of the insurer, you can approach a non-approved garage also.
- After the repair, the insurer will conduct another inspection to know the expense and condition of the bike.
- Now you need to pay all the charges and bills at the garage
- Submit all the bills, payment receipts along with Proof of Release to the insurer
- Once the claim is approved, the insurer will credit the amount to your account.
What are Documents Required to Claim bike insurance
Once we know the procedure to claim, let’s see the list of documents required to submit with a claim form to the insurer or network garage. The list of documents generally asked by insurer is given below
- Duly signed claim form
- Copy of Registration Certificate or RC of your bike, RC should be in validity period.
- Copy of your driving license, driving license should be in validity period.
- Valid insurance policy copy
- Police FIR (in case of accidents, theft, and third-party liabilities)
- If you are claiming for reimbursement, in that case, original repair bills and payment of receipt in
- Proof of release (IN case of reimbursement of claim. This will be provided from garage where your bike is repaired)
